This release of Fugu data is assembled into scaffolds, so there are no chromosomes available to browse. Use the BLAST link in the menu bar, left, or the search form, right, to locate data.
A few example data points :
This site presents version 4 of the Fugu genome, released in October 2004 by the International Fugu Genome Consortium. Fugu rubripes has a very compact genome, with less than 15% consisting of dispersed repetitive sequence, which makes it ideal for gene discovery.
The latest assembly is based on 8.7X coverage of the genome, and spans 393 Mb of the 400 Mb genome. Please refer to the Fugu Project's Webpage for more details of the sequencing effort.
Fugu Ensembl is a joint project between the IMCB-Singapore and the EMBL - EBI to produce and maintain an automatic annotation of the Fugu genome.
New look'n'feel for the Ensembl website
www.ensembl.org has had a major redesign, both on the surface and 'under the bonnet'. Most of the dynamic pages (e.g. ContigView, GeneView) have only minor cosmetic changes - in addition to the new template and stylesheets, some links have been moved from the body of the view to the new side-bar.

New 'subviews'
Three new views now display sections from some of our larger view pages.

Changes to view names
New variation databases
All species have new variation databases owing to schema changes.
New table 'sample'
Provides a type of base class for Individual and Population; individual_id and population_id are thus replaced with a unique sample_id.
